HEALTH & WELLNESS RECORDS/FORMS
We require the following in order to begin daycare:
• Registration Packet available at Healthy Hounds
• Tag free quick release collar
• Rabies/Distemper (DHPP)
• Kennel Cough (aka Bordetella) vaccinations every 6 months
• Heartworm test/year round preventative We strongly recommend Sentinel, as it protects against more parasites than Heartgard
• A regular program of flea, tick and mosquito prevention **
• Leptospirosis vaccine ∇
• Annual physical During the annual physical, we require the specific fecal test for intestinal worms and parasites, including Giardia, listed below
• Gold Standard Fecal Test
The required test is zinc sulfate floatation/centrifugation plus a Giarida antigen test. Not all vets provide this test, but our nearby vet of record can run this test for you with a fresh stool sample. Since Giardia is very common, especially in puppies, we want as much assurance as possible that dogs coming into Healthy Hounds are healthy.
∇ Can sign a decline waiver – please see article on our website and consult your vet. Please consult your vet and click on here to read more about the vaccine.
PICK UP & DROP OFF POLICY
Customer drop off at daycare is from 7am-10am
Customer pick up at daycare from 3:15pm-6:00pm**
** For earlier pickup, please notify us in advance and call shortly before arrival so that your dog is ready to be brought out to your vehicle
** FLEA,TICK & MOSQUITO PREVENTION
We require a monthly application to prevent against fleas, tick & mosquitoes. Not all products repel against mosquitoes but Advantix ii does. With West Nile virus present, mosquitoes are a very real threat. Please do not bring flea collars to daycare.
In addition, please be sure that your dog is getting a monthly application against parasites. Sentinel is recommended over Heartgard because it protects against more parasites than Heartgard.

After we meet with you and your dog, our trial period enables us to evaluate your dog’s behavior.
We may also require testing during the course of daycare if deemed necessary, and reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog for any reason. Any and all testing is at the customer’s expense.

IMPORTANT… PLEASE HELP US KEEP ALL DOGS SAFE AND HEALTHY BY FOLLOWING THESE DO’S and DONT’S GUIDELINES.
DO give your dog ample opportunity to FULLY eliminate no more than 15 minutes before arriving at daycare. Like many people, most dogs need to fully eliminate in the morning, often multiple times.
Tense dogs can get into altercations.
Dog waste can transmit disease.
Please help us to accomplish our goals of keeping everyone safe & healthy.
Please use the field next to Healthy Hounds to walk your dog when needed. For dogs who are picked up at home: Please DO be sure that they have taken care of all their business before you leave the house.
We really need and appreciate your cooperation around this.
DO consider that 11 hours of daycare is not necessarily a healthy option for all dogs. Most dogs do well with 7-8 hours/day.
We prefer that your dog maintain a set weekly schedule.
It is important that we have at least 24 hours notice if you would like your dog to be attending daycare.
DO NOT bring your dog to daycare if he/she has a limp, open sores, or any illness.
DO NOT bring your dog if he or she has had diarrhea within the past 24 hours.
Diarrhea does not necessarily mean that a dog is sick.
